His doctoral research examines how policy support, market acceptance and industrial collaboration influence the development and adoption of prefabricated construction in China.
Weng’s doctoral research investigates the challenges limiting the wider adoption of prefabricated construction in China and explores potential pathways for improving the industry’s development.
The research considers how government policy, market awareness and acceptance, and coordination between public and private actors shape industry development expectations.
It also examines the role of construction supply-chain collaboration, technological maturity and cost-control capabilities in influencing the effectiveness of industrial policies and market development.
By connecting construction industry experience with an empirical investigation of policy and market mechanisms, the study contributes to understanding how emerging construction technologies can move toward broader commercial and industrial adoption.
