The Executive DBA in Artificial Intelligence is a three-year research-oriented programme offered by Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC), Spain, in cooperation with CEIBA Business School.
Designed for experienced executives, managers and professionals, the programme examines how artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies are transforming organisational decision-making, innovation, strategy and business operations.
Participants develop research projects grounded in real organisational challenges, combining academic inquiry with professional experience to investigate the opportunities, limitations and implications of AI adoption.
Artificial intelligence is changing how organisations analyse information, coordinate activities, interact with customers and develop new products and services.
Yet introducing advanced technology does not automatically generate organisational value.
The Executive DBA in Artificial Intelligence encourages participants to move beyond questions of technological adoption and investigate how organisations develop capabilities, change processes, make decisions and create value through AI.
By combining management theory, empirical research and contemporary technological developments, participants can contribute to a better understanding of AI-driven organisational transformation.
Investigate how AI changes organisational
decisions, management capabilities
and strategic processes.
Explore AI-enabled innovation, big data,
digital twins and the transformation
of organisations and business models.
Examine AI governance, transparency,
employee responses, trust and
responsible technology adoption.
These themes provide possible research directions rather than a prescribed list of compulsory courses. Individual projects require academic approval and appropriate supervision.
Develop a focused research question, engage
with academic literature, establish a
theoretical framework, and prepare a
rigorous research proposal.
Conduct empirical research under academic
supervision, collect and analyse data,
develop findings, and write the
doctoral thesis.
Finalise the thesis and present the research
contribution through the university’s
assessment and defence process.
Throughout the three-year programme, structured academic milestones and research supervision support candidates as they develop their doctoral research alongside their professional responsibilities.
